A waste transport complication has been detected in the Itä-Uusimaa region in Finland. Along with waste collected by L&T under a municipal waste transport contract, occasional waste from some retail outlets have ended up on a landfill. Collection of retail waste into the same waste truck carrying municipal contract household waste is a breach against the agreement between L&T and Itä-Uudenmaan Jätehuolto, and also contrary to L&T’s internal operative guidelines.

L&T regrets this waste transport confusion. L&T has compensated Itä-Uudenmaan Jätehuolto for the financial loss amounting to approximately Euro 40,000 caused by the incidence. L&T has also further clarified its operative instructions for waste truck drivers and enhanced its current driver’s training programme in order to avoid such incidents from happening again.
