The business sector is facing increasing demands for environmental awareness from their customers. In order to help businesses meet such extending environmental requirements on a local level, Lassila & Tikanoja (L&T) is arranging a series of Environmental Academy events in different parts of Finland to offer local businesses access to new information.
- The business sector can significantly improve its cost efficiency by focusing on environmental issues. In addition to company benefits, waste recycling, for example, will help streamline materials management functions to produce environmental and customer benefits as well. In many companies, sorting helps limit the volume of waste ending up on landfills to an utmost minimum, says Petri Salermo, Sales Director at L&T.
In addition to meeting consumer demands, companies are obliged to extent their focus on environmental matters based on official regulations. The Environmental Academy training programme includes a review of what local, national and international demands need to be met by companies as a part of their environmental management, and instructions on what preparations should be made in order to fulfil the changed regulations.
