Regardless of the recession, L&T employs hundreds of seasonal workers this summer. Most of the summer jobs are cleaning vacancies. The number of vacancies has remained at the same level as last summer but remarkably more persons are applying for the jobs this year.
Competition for jobs is intense this summer and particularly students and newly graduated are having problems finding a job. Many minors are also in search for a job which may be due to the tightened financial situation in families. Those laid off or redundant are also exploring new career opportunities.
