Kesko Food is transferring their return logistics terminal services in the Helsinki area to Lassila & Tikanoja starting June 13, 2005. 18 persons working at the Kesko terminal will be transferring to L&T’s payroll as old employees.
L&T assumes the responsibility for return logistics terminal services and central warehousing environmental management in Vantaa. L&T will purchase the equipment related to environmental management and return logistics terminal services from Kesko Food.
Retail food products delivery return consignments include empty roll containers, loading pallets and other collection devices, as well as recyclable materials such as cardboard and drink cans. The terminal is delivering the pre-sorted recyclable materials for processing and other collection devices for reuse. L&T also takes care of collection and handling of recyclable materials in Kesko Food’s terminals elsewhere in Finland.
